This print is a portal through deep time, providing a glimpse of an ancient castle since lost to time offer a rumination on presence. Such glorious temples of human potential, hope, and expression have long faded, slowly consumed by the earth from which the first stones were mined. Half-fallen structures are home to the spirits of the people who once lived in them, their bodies gone but their presence forever bound to a moment in time. They exist in the delicately carved rock, in the rooms whose doors have long ago fallen, in the long shadow cast by a crumbling tower. In the places where they once stood, a rosebush now grows.

The Ballinsnave Print honors castles whose precise stories and locations have long been lost, whose memories serve as portals into the past. They are a reminder that one day our own temples will be be subsumed, our spirits living on within the creeping vines.
