In 2004, Caroline Haelterman and her husband, Hugh, set up The Real Pearl Co. Through The Real Pearl Co, Caroline re-creates historic jewelry into contemporary wearable art, thereby keeping over 5,000 years of jewelry history alive through her designs.

The Pearl & Red Crystal Drop Necklace replicates the pearl and ruby necklace worn by Isabella Stewart Gardner in her portrait by John Singer Sargent, painted during a visit to Boston in January 1888. The majority of Isabella's pearls and rubies were purchased in Paris, France, from the jeweler Boucheron. This delicate and feminine necklace features a strand of 5-6mm white pearls with a gold plate edged red crystal and a white pearl drop, on a gold plated magnetic ball clasp.Measures 18"L
