Hamlet Ornament

$1895

This ornament of the titular character in William Shakeaspeare's tragedy, Hamlet, captures the young prince in the middle of his famous soliloquy. Clutching the skull of Yorick, his father's jester, Hamlet speaks:

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath borne me on his back a thousand times, and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it.
