Paz Coat

Carla Fernández (Artist-in-Residence, 2013) is a Mexico City-based fashion label inspired by the geometrics and textile richness of Mexico. The brand has gained international acclaim for their approach to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Mexico’s indigenous communities and transforming it into beautiful clothing, textiles and housewares. Their contemporary take on handcrafted methods is proving ethical fashion can be striking, avant-garde and forward-looking.

The Paz Coat features four snap closures with cuffed sleeves, pleated accent at shoulders, and two side pockets.

Carla Fernandez's designs return to ancestral heritage, working with the roots of the Mexican dress form and its geometric conception. The coat's design is inspired by traditional Mexican clothing made with squares and rectangles. This historic theme influences the brand's "square root" system, found in many Carla Fernandez pieces.
