Shibori is a method of working with textiles which originated in Japan, possibly as early as the 8th century. There are many different techniques of Shibori to bind, twist, knot, fold, and compress fabric producing different textures and patterns. Multiple techniques of Shibori can also be combined to achieve more elaborate designs.
These Shibori bags are hand dyed, pleated, color discharged, and hemmed one piece at a time. The stylish, lightweight reusable bag for groceries, books, accessories, and daily items expands to hold up to 25 lbs (then scrunches back down to its original shape).
