African Violet Brooch

These herbaceous perennial flowering plants are native to Tanzania and south-eastern Kenya in eastern tropical Africa. They are typically a common indoor plant, but can also be planted outside. African violets have long been associated with mothers and motherhood and given as a traditional gift to mothers in many cultures around the world. They are also associated with Easter and Valentine's Day.

Inspired by the beauty of the African Violet bloom, this handcrafted pin features colored glass petals, freshwater pearl accents, and hand-patinaed bronze leaves.
