Between 1867 and 1895, Isabella Stewart Gardner and her husband Jack traveled the world. On these trips, Isabella collaged photographs, found papers, and botanical samples into albums peppered with watercolors and annotations in her own hand. Inspired by a photograph from one of Isabella Stewart Gardner's travel albums, this postcard features Mrs. Gardner and her friends seated for an elegant lunch in Venice, Italy.

The design on the card's verso is inspired by vintage postcards from roughly the same time period.
