Tassel Tie

The inspiration for the playful yet elegant design of this tie comes from the Titian Room of the Museum, specifically the Silk Fabric with a Tassel Pattern (from a Gown).

The Museum's records indicate that a gown, presumably made with this fabric, was purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner from the French house of high fashion, House of Worth, Paris before 1891. The fabric was worn by Isabella Stewart Gardner to the 1891 Myopia Hunt Club Ball in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. It is believed that fragments from the gown's petticoat were sewn together and installed in the east wall of the Titian Room before 1903.

The elaborate design is replicated on this 100% silk tie made by Cyberoptix Tie Lab, a custom screen printing
business established in Chicago in 2006. All Cyberoptix ties are made by hand, with no automation or machines.
