The Gardner's famous canary, Whistler, now resides in the museum's Living Room because birds were featured in the Lee Mingwei's (Artist-in-Residence, 1999) original installation in 2000. Whistler isn't the first canary to grace the Gardner. In Isabella's day, four birds filled the Museum with their sweet chirps!
